This four day Maldives honeymoon splits between a beach villa and an overwater villa on a private island resort, with a private sunset dinner on the last full evening. Transfers run by speedboat or seaplane depending on which atoll the resort sits in, and the seaplane option changes how you plan your flights. November to April is the dry season and the calmest water.

โWe had an unforgettable 5D4N trip to Bali with Gomayu Holidays! From the very beginning, the communication was smooth, clear, and professional. Everything was perfectly organized; airport pickup, hotel check-ins, and daily tours were always on time, with no stress at all. Our stay was split between a beautiful private pool villa in Seminyak and a comfortable room at Grand Mega Resort, both of which exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well-balanced with adventure, culture, and relaxation. We really enjoyed the watersports (banana boat, jet ski, parasailing), the stunning Uluwatu Temple with Kecak dance, and the romantic candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach. The Bali swing and tandem ATV ride were absolute highlights and so much fun! Visiting Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) was magical and very well arranged despite the crowds. We had some spare time to visit the malls and try local food as well. Special thanks to the guide and driver, who was friendly, helpful, super-flexible and always made sure we were comfortable. We didnโt have to worry about anything as everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone planning a hassle-free and memorable Bali trip. Thank you, Gomayu Holidays, for making our holiday truly special!โ

Anyone willing to travel through a travel agent can choose Gomayu. Thank you for a wonderful trip. We truly enjoyed it. Also, special thanks to Mr. Yuwan and Mr. Elho for making the entire trip smooth. Keep up the good work, guys.โ

A Maldives honeymoon is the easiest holiday to enjoy and one of the easiest to plan badly. Once you are on the island there is nothing to organise. Everything that can go wrong happens before that: the transfer window, the taxes nobody mentioned, and the two things that get taken off you at the airport. This guide covers those, so the rest of the week can be empty.
A beach villa sits on the sand with the lagoon a few steps away, usually roomier, often with a private stretch of beach or a garden. An overwater villa stands on stilts above the lagoon with a deck and steps into the water. Most couples find the beach villa easier to live in and the overwater villa the one they remember, which is why this trip does both rather than making you choose.
Worth knowing: the reef under an overwater villa varies a lot by resort and by which side of the island you face. If snorkelling straight off your own deck matters, say so and we will match the resort to it rather than to the photograph.
The property depends on your dates, availability and the price band, and it changes between departures, so naming one here would be wrong within a season. What is fixed is the shape: a private island resort, a beach villa, a night over the water, a private sunset dinner and all inclusive meals. We confirm the exact resort and villa categories in writing when we quote.
The dry northeast monsoon runs November to April, and that is the honeymoon season: clear skies, calm lagoons, the best underwater visibility. December to March is the sweet spot and the most expensive.
May to October is the wet southwest monsoon. Rain arrives in short heavy bursts rather than all day, prices drop noticeably, and it is the better window for manta rays and whale sharks in the outer atolls. What suffers is sea state, which affects transfers and anything on a boat.
How you reach the resort depends on which atoll it is in, and it changes how you must book your international ticket.
Resorts near Male use a speedboat, usually thirty to fifty minutes, running at any hour. A late night arrival is fine.
Resorts further out use a seaplane, and this is the single most common way a Maldives honeymoon starts badly. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly six in the morning to half past three in the afternoon. It is a national aviation rule, not a company preference. If your flight lands late afternoon or evening, you cannot reach the resort that day, and the trip begins with an unplanned night in Male or Hulhumale at your own cost. On a four day honeymoon that is a quarter of the holiday.
So send us your flight times before you ticket. We will tell you whether they work with the resort you want, or move you to a speedboat resort.
Two more seaplane details worth packing around. The baggage allowance is lower than your international ticket, roughly twenty kilos checked plus five hand luggage, with excess charged per kilo, which catches couples flying in with thirty kilo allowances. And the seaplane runs on its own schedule, so a two hour wait in the seaplane terminal lounge is routine rather than a problem.
Every Maldives holiday has these and it is better to hear them now.
The government charges a Green Tax per person per night and a goods and services tax on tourism services on the resort bill. Both are payable in the Maldives, on top of the package price. There are also airport departure and development fees for foreign passengers, but those are already inside your air ticket, so you will not be asked for them at the airport.
The bigger variable is the resort bill itself: drinks outside the all inclusive plan, diving, spa treatments and excursions. Ask us exactly what the chosen resort includes before assuming.
Nepali passport holders need no visa in advance. The Maldives gives a free thirty day visa on arrival to every nationality. Keep the passport valid more than six months beyond arrival and have your resort confirmation and return ticket to hand.
What is mandatory is the Traveller Declaration on the official IMUGA portal, imuga.immigration.gov.mv. Free, filed within the ninety six hours before your flight, one per traveller including infants. Filing earlier than ninety six hours makes it invalid. Arrival only; the departure form was discontinued. Several copycat sites charge for it, so use only the official address.
Alcohol cannot be imported, including duty free. It is held at Velana and returned on departure. Resorts are licensed and serve alcohol freely, so this only affects what you carry in.
Vapes and e-cigarettes are completely banned in the Maldives, for everyone including tourists, at any age. Import, possession and use are all prohibited. A device is confiscated at the border against a receipt and returned when you leave, but using one carries a fine. Leave it at home. Separately, since November 2025 anyone born on or after 1 January 2007 cannot buy or use tobacco in the Maldives, and that applies to visitors as well.
The rufiyaa is the local currency but resorts run entirely in US dollars, with everything billed to the villa and settled by card at checkout. Carry a few small dollar notes for tipping. There is no need to change money for a resort stay.
Wifi is standard and usually free in villas; a tourist SIM from the airport is worth it for data on the transfer. Villa water is desalinated and safe, and resorts provide filtered drinking water. Bring reef safe sunscreen, because ordinary sunscreen is discouraged and some resorts will not sell it.
Tell us it is a honeymoon when we book rather than mentioning it at check in. Resorts arrange the cake, the villa decoration and any credit in advance, and several ask to see a marriage certificate dated within the last six months, so it is worth having a photo of it on your phone.
Ask for the villa move to happen after breakfast rather than at the usual changeover time, so you get a full afternoon on the deck. Book the sunset dinner for the overwater night, not the first night, when you will still be tired from flying. And snorkel the house reef on the first morning, when the light is best.
Couples who want privacy and no logistics, and who would rather spend on the villa than on activities. Four days is short for the Maldives; if you can add even one night, do. And if you want to see the country as well as the resort, a night on a local island before or after adds a completely different day for very little money.
