“It was our best decision to choose Gomayu. We had a wonderful experience with GOMAYU during our Thailand trip. Hotels, Location and itinerary all were well planned and was according to our expectations. Response and communication was very good in Thailand as well. You made our trip very smooth, hassle free and stress free from begning to the end of our trip. This trip was memorable, as me and my husband got to celebrate our 20th wedding Anniversary together in the beautiful place of Thailand and credit goes to GOMAYU for all the arrangements . We are very much satisfied with your service and hope to have other trips with you soon. I would happily Recommend GOMAYU to my friends and family for their excellent service and professional support.”

“We had an unforgettable 5D4N trip to Bali with Gomayu Holidays! From the very beginning, the communication was smooth, clear, and professional. Everything was perfectly organized; airport pickup, hotel check-ins, and daily tours were always on time, with no stress at all. Our stay was split between a beautiful private pool villa in Seminyak and a comfortable room at Grand Mega Resort, both of which exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well-balanced with adventure, culture, and relaxation. We really enjoyed the watersports (banana boat, jet ski, parasailing), the stunning Uluwatu Temple with Kecak dance, and the romantic candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach. The Bali swing and tandem ATV ride were absolute highlights and so much fun! Visiting Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) was magical and very well arranged despite the crowds. We had some spare time to visit the malls and try local food as well. Special thanks to the guide and driver, who was friendly, helpful, super-flexible and always made sure we were comfortable. We didn’t have to worry about anything as everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone planning a hassle-free and memorable Bali trip. Thank you, Gomayu Holidays, for making our holiday truly special!”

Two Very Different Sides of the Maldives, One Trip

The Maldives offers two genuinely different kinds of holiday depending on where you stay: a local island like Maafushi, where guesthouses, village life, and competing dive shops keep costs low but come with modest dress rules and no alcohol, and a private resort island, where the entire island is the property, with licensed alcohol, unrestricted swimwear, and complete privacy. This 5-day itinerary is built specifically to let travelers experience both halves in a single trip rather than choosing one over the other.

Arrival and Maafushi

The trip opens at Velana International Airport (MLE), with a roughly 30-minute speedboat transfer south to Maafushi, in South Malé Atoll and widely known as the busiest and most developed local island in the country. Maafushi has been open to tourism through licensed guesthouses since 2009, and staying there gives travelers a version of the Maldives where people actually live, eating at local cafes and joining shared boat excursions rather than private charters. Since Maafushi is a local island, alcohol isn't sold or permitted there by law, and modest dress, covering shoulders and knees, is expected anywhere in the village outside the designated bikini beach area.

Sandbank, Snorkeling, and Dolphins

Day 2 covers Maafushi's signature shared excursion: a boat trip to a sandbank that surfaces only at low tide, followed by snorkeling with a good chance of spotting turtles, reef sharks, and rays. Returning via the island's dolphin pods at dusk is a reliable highlight of this route, with dinner on the island closing out the day.

Crossing to the Resort Island

Day 3 marks the itinerary's clearest contrast: a speedboat transfer to a private resort island, where the entire island functions as a single property rather than a shared village. Checking into a beach villa with the house reef directly off the deck gives an immediate sense of the shift in privacy and pace, and unlike Maafushi, alcohol and swimwear are unrestricted here, since resort islands operate under separate licensing from local islands.

A Free Day at the Resort

Day 4 is left entirely open, centered on the reef, the pool, and the spa. For travelers wanting more structure, sunset fishing, a guided snorkel, or a couples' spa treatment are all available to arrange locally, with dinner served on the sand closing out the evening.

Getting Home

Day 5 covers a final swim before checkout and the speedboat transfer back to Malé for departure.

Best Time to Visit

November through April is the Maldives' dry season and the most reliable window for calm, clear water across both the Maafushi excursions and the resort island's reef and water activities.

Practical Notes for Nepali Travelers

US Dollars are the recommended currency throughout, since Nepali currency isn't accepted; most cafes and activity centers on Maafushi accept Visa or Mastercard. Since this itinerary moves between a local island and a resort island, packing modest clothing for the Maafushi portion (to wear in the village, outside the bikini beach) alongside swimwear for the resort stay is worth doing rather than assuming the same dress code applies throughout the trip. Life jackets are provided on excursion boats, and basic water confidence is helpful but not mandatory for the snorkeling activities included.
