A Fuller Look at Dubai

This itinerary extends past the classic Dubai city break with a day dedicated to some of the city's newest attractions, the Museum of the Future and Dubai Frame, alongside two seasonal stops, Global Village and Dubai Miracle Garden, that aren't part of every Dubai package since they only run part of the year. It suits travelers with an extra day or two to spend, or those who want more than the standard landmarks-and-desert-safari combination.

The Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future, opened in 2022, has quickly become one of Dubai's most recognized new buildings, a torus-shaped structure covered in Arabic calligraphy that houses exhibits imagining future developments in space, health, and technology over the coming decades. Unlike a traditional museum built around historical artifacts, it's designed as an immersive experience, with exhibits often described as feeling closer to a theme park attraction than a conventional museum visit.

Dubai Frame

Dubai Frame, located in Zabeel Park, is a 150 meter tall rectangular structure designed to frame both old and new Dubai within a single view, with Deira and Bur Dubai's older neighborhoods visible on one side and the modern skyline on the other. A museum at the base traces Dubai's transformation from a fishing and pearl diving village into a modern global city, before an elevator ride up to the glass-floored Sky Deck at the top for the panoramic views the structure is best known for.

Global Village

Global Village is a seasonal cultural and shopping park, typically running from around October to April to avoid the summer heat, since it's largely an open-air venue. It's built around pavilions representing different countries and regions, each with its own shopping, food, and cultural elements, alongside live entertainment and fireworks on selected nights. Since it only operates part of the year, this stop only works for itineraries booked within that window.

Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden, open since 2013, holds the record as the world's largest natural flower garden, spread across roughly 72,000 square meters and featuring over 150 million blooms arranged into elaborate sculptures and structures, including a life-size floral recreation of an Emirates Airbus A380 built from hundreds of thousands of individual flowers. Like Global Village, it's a seasonal attraction, generally open from around September or November through April or May depending on the year, closing for the hottest summer months when the flowers can't be sustained.

Revisiting the Classics: Burj Khalifa and the Desert Safari

This itinerary still covers Dubai's essential experiences alongside the newer additions. The Burj Khalifa observation deck, on the 124th and 125th floors at roughly 452 to 456 meters, remains one of the world's tallest publicly accessible viewpoints, paired here with an evening viewing of the Dubai Fountain show at the building's base. The Desert Safari follows the standard format: an afternoon of dune bashing by 4x4, camel riding and sandboarding at a desert camp, and an evening BBQ dinner with traditional entertainment including belly dancing and the Tanoura spinning dance.

Shopping in Dubai

With a dedicated shopping afternoon built into Day 5, Dubai Mall remains the city's flagship shopping destination, adjoining the Burj Khalifa, while Mall of the Emirates is known for its indoor ski slope alongside its retail offering. Local souks, particularly in the older Deira district visited earlier in the trip, offer a more traditional alternative for gold, textiles, and spices.

UAE Visa for Nepali Citizens

Visa requirements for the UAE vary by nationality and should be confirmed directly ahead of booking, since rules and eligible entry methods can change. Nepali passport holders should check current requirements, including whether a visa on arrival or an advance e-visa application applies, well ahead of the trip. Currency and Practical Notes

The UAE Dirham is the local currency, pegged to the US Dollar, and cards are widely accepted across Dubai's hotels, malls, and attractions. Modest dress is expected at more traditional sites like the souks and Jumeirah Mosque, even though Western clothing is standard at hotels and malls.
