Thailand visa types for Nepali citizens

The right Thailand visa for Nepali citizens depends on your trip. There are three common options Gomayu handles:

• Tourist visa, single entry (TR): for one holiday visit, usually allowing a stay of around 60 days. Best for most first-time travellers, honeymooners, families and couples going to Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.
• Tourist visa, multiple entry (METV): valid for up to 6 months, letting you enter several times with up to 60 days per visit. This needs stronger financial proof, including 6 months of bank statements. Good for frequent travellers or those combining Thailand with nearby countries.
• Transit visa (TS): for when you are only connecting through Thailand to reach a third country and need to pass through or briefly stay.

Documents you need for a Thailand e-Visa

For a smooth Thailand tourist visa application, Nepali travellers typically need:

• Passport valid for at least 6 months with blank pages.
• Passport-size photo on a white background.
• Confirmed return flight and hotel booking for your travel dates.
• Bank statement showing sufficient funds — around THB 20,000 (about NPR 80,000) per person as proof you can support your stay.
• Nepali citizenship certificate, translated.

For the multiple-entry visa (METV), you will also need 6 months of bank statements. Requirements can vary case to case, so we review your papers before submitting to avoid rejection.

How to apply, step by step

The Thailand e-Visa is applied for online at the official portal (thaievisa.go.th) before you fly. The process usually works like this:

• Choose the correct visa type for your trip.
• Fill the online form and upload your passport, photo, bookings and bank proof.
• Pay the visa fee and submit the application.
• Wait for processing — this typically takes a few working days, though times can vary, so apply early.
• Receive your approved e-Visa by email and carry a printout when you travel.

Don't forget the TDAC arrival card
