Most Da Nang itineraries treat Ba Na Hills as a single day trip. This one is different: it includes an actual overnight stay at the mountain resort itself, at the Mercure Danang French Village, giving travelers a full day and two half-days there rather than rushing through on a single tour bus schedule. Arriving in Da Nang

Day 3 is left as a full day at Ba Na Hills, built around its best-known landmark: the Golden Bridge, a 150-metre pedestrian bridge designed to appear held aloft by two giant stone hands, offering sweeping views over the surrounding mountains and coastline. Beyond the bridge, the resort's French Village replica, landscaped gardens, and other attractions fill out a full day comfortably, with lunch included on-site so the day doesn't require a return to the valley.

Marble Mountains and Hoi An

Day 4 combines the return journey to Da Nang with two additional stops. The Marble Mountains, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills each named for one of the five elements, offer cave temples and viewpoints worth a stop en route. From there, the day continues to Hoi An, a UNESCO-listed ancient town known for its lantern-lit streets, preserved shophouses, and Japanese Covered Bridge. Visiting in the evening, as this itinerary schedules, times the walk to catch the town's lanterns lit against the dusk, one of Hoi An's most photographed settings.

A Free Day Back in Da Nang

Day 5 gives travelers a choice between relaxing at My Khe Beach, regularly ranked among Vietnam's best beaches, or visiting the Dragon Bridge, known for its weekend fire and water-breathing shows. For those wanting a more active day, an optional excursion to Cham Island offers snorkeling and a quieter island setting a short boat ride from the mainland.

Getting Home

The trip closes with a straightforward checkout and transfer to Da Nang International Airport, since both arrival and departure run through the same airport.

Best Time to Visit

February through May generally offers the most comfortable conditions for this itinerary, particularly given Ba Na Hills' higher elevation, which can bring cooler temperatures and occasional cloud cover year-round. Central Vietnam's rainy season typically runs from September through December, which can affect visibility from the Golden Bridge and cable car.

Practical Notes for Nepali Travelers

Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the local currency, with exchange facilities available in Da Nang. Since Ba Na Hills sits at a significantly higher elevation than Da Nang city, packing a light jacket or layer for the overnight stay is worth doing even in warmer months. Comfortable walking shoes are useful throughout, particularly for the Marble Mountains' cave and viewpoint climbs on Day 4.
