ā€œIt was our best decision to choose Gomayu. We had a wonderful experience with GOMAYU during our Thailand trip. Hotels, Location and itinerary all were well planned and was according to our expectations. Response and communication was very good in Thailand as well. You made our trip very smooth, hassle free and stress free from begning to the end of our trip. This trip was memorable, as me and my husband got to celebrate our 20th wedding Anniversary together in the beautiful place of Thailand and credit goes to GOMAYU for all the arrangements . We are very much satisfied with your service and hope to have other trips with you soon. I would happily Recommend GOMAYU to my friends and family for their excellent service and professional support.ā€

ā€œWe had an unforgettable 5D4N trip to Bali with Gomayu Holidays! From the very beginning, the communication was smooth, clear, and professional. Everything was perfectly organized; airport pickup, hotel check-ins, and daily tours were always on time, with no stress at all. Our stay was split between a beautiful private pool villa in Seminyak and a comfortable room at Grand Mega Resort, both of which exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well-balanced with adventure, culture, and relaxation. We really enjoyed the watersports (banana boat, jet ski, parasailing), the stunning Uluwatu Temple with Kecak dance, and the romantic candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach. The Bali swing and tandem ATV ride were absolute highlights and so much fun! Visiting Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) was magical and very well arranged despite the crowds. We had some spare time to visit the malls and try local food as well. Special thanks to the guide and driver, who was friendly, helpful, super-flexible and always made sure we were comfortable. We didn’t have to worry about anything as everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone planning a hassle-free and memorable Bali trip. Thank you, Gomayu Holidays, for making our holiday truly special!ā€

Sri Lanka's Essentials, Without the Long Circuit

For travelers with limited time, this 5-day itinerary distills Sri Lanka down to its two most essential inland stops: the Cultural Triangle's Sigiriya and Dambulla, and Kandy's cultural heart, without extending into the hill country, wildlife parks, or south coast that longer Gomayu itineraries cover. It works well as a standalone short break or as an efficient way to see the country's best-known heritage sites on a tighter schedule.

Arrival and the Drive Inland

The trip opens at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) with a transfer to Negombo. Day 2 covers the drive inland through coconut plantation country to the Cultural Triangle, with Dambulla's cave temple complex, containing five caves of painted ceilings and Buddha statues dating back to the first century BC, visited in the cooler afternoon rather than under the midday sun.

Sigiriya and a Village Morning

Day 3 opens with an early climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, timed while the rock is still cool and relatively quiet. Sigiriya opens at 7:00am and tickets are issued through the Central Cultural Fund; climbing before 9:00am, as this itinerary schedules, matters given how exposed the staircase is and how punishing the combination of midday sun and wind becomes later in the day, particularly for children and older travelers. The climb passes ancient frescoes and the rock's famous mirror wall on the way to the summit. The Hiriwadunna village experience that follows offers a genuinely different, hands-on morning: a bullock cart ride, a catamaran trip on the local lake, and a home-cooked village lunch, before the drive continues to Kandy in the late afternoon.

Kandy: Temple and Gardens

Day 4 covers Kandy's two signature sites. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist site, holds a ceremony each morning that visitors can attend, offering both a religious and cultural window into the city. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, one of Asia's largest botanical gardens, gives the middle of the day a quieter, shaded pace before the drive back to the coast for the final night in Negombo.

Getting Home

Day 5 is kept simple, with an early breakfast and a short transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.

Best Time to Visit

Sigiriya and Dambulla sit in Sri Lanka's dry north-central plains and are accessible year-round, making this itinerary a reliable choice regardless of season. December through April generally offers the most comfortable overall travel conditions, including in Kandy, though this short-break route is workable outside that window as well given how little of it depends on coastal or hill-country weather.

Practical Notes for Nepali Travelers

Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) is the local currency. Given how exposed and demanding the Sigiriya climb becomes later in the day, sticking to the early climbing window this itinerary uses matters more than it might first appear, particularly for older travelers or anyone sensitive to heat. Comfortable walking shoes and sun protection are worth prioritizing for Day 3 specifically, and modest dress is appreciated for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic visit on Day 4.
