โWe had an unforgettable 5D4N trip to Bali with Gomayu Holidays! From the very beginning, the communication was smooth, clear, and professional. Everything was perfectly organized; airport pickup, hotel check-ins, and daily tours were always on time, with no stress at all. Our stay was split between a beautiful private pool villa in Seminyak and a comfortable room at Grand Mega Resort, both of which exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well-balanced with adventure, culture, and relaxation. We really enjoyed the watersports (banana boat, jet ski, parasailing), the stunning Uluwatu Temple with Kecak dance, and the romantic candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach. The Bali swing and tandem ATV ride were absolute highlights and so much fun! Visiting Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) was magical and very well arranged despite the crowds. We had some spare time to visit the malls and try local food as well. Special thanks to the guide and driver, who was friendly, helpful, super-flexible and always made sure we were comfortable. We didnโt have to worry about anything as everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone planning a hassle-free and memorable Bali trip. Thank you, Gomayu Holidays, for making our holiday truly special!โ

A Different Kind of Southeast Asia Trip
This itinerary swaps the usual flights and coach transfers between destinations for a cruise ship, giving a genuinely different travel experience across the same general region as several of your land-based packages. Rather than checking in and out of hotels in each city, the ship itself becomes the accommodation, moving overnight between ports while passengers sleep, meaning the only real "commute" is time spent onboard rather than in transit.
Singapore Before the Cruise
The trip opens with a night in Singapore before boarding, giving time for a city tour covering Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay, and Chinatown, plus free time at Orchard Road or Jewel Changi, the striking indoor waterfall and shopping complex at Changi Airport. Boarding typically takes place at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in the early to mid afternoon, with the rest of embarkation day left free to explore the ship itself before it departs that evening.
Life Aboard a Royal Caribbean Ship
Royal Caribbean's Southeast Asia sailings out of Singapore rotate between several ships depending on the season, including Spectrum of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, and Navigator of the Seas, each with a different set of onboard facilities. Larger ships in this class typically include multiple pools, a range of dining venues from casual to specialty restaurants, theatres with evening shows, and activity decks that can include features like rock climbing walls, surf simulators, or observation pods depending on the specific ship. Since the exact ship matters for what's actually available onboard, it's worth confirming which vessel is assigned to a given sailing date before setting guest expectations.
Penang: George Town
The first port call, Penang, centers on George Town, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 alongside Malacca, recognized for its well preserved colonial era architecture built up over more than 200 years as a British trading post. The city's street art, much of it added since 2012 as part of a public art initiative, has become one of George Town's most photographed features, often incorporated into walking tours through the historic quarter. Kek Lok Si Temple, on a hillside outside the city center, is one of the largest Buddhist temple complexes in Southeast Asia, known for its multi-tiered pagoda and large standing statue of Guanyin. Penang's hawker food scene, built around dishes like char kway teow and asam laksa, is considered among the best in Malaysia, making the port call as much a food stop as a sightseeing one.
Phuket: Beach Time and Optional Excursions
The second port call, Phuket, gives passengers a shorter window ashore than a standalone Phuket holiday would, so most itineraries focus on either a relaxed beach visit to Patong or the Old Town, or a booked excursion further afield. The Phi Phi Islands, reached by speedboat, are a popular optional add-on for passengers wanting to see Maya Bay and snorkel during the port call, though this needs to be booked with enough buffer time to be back aboard before the ship departs.
The Day at Sea
The final full day is spent entirely at sea, giving a chance to use the ship's facilities without a shore excursion competing for time, pools, onboard shows, specialty dining, and deck activities are the main draw. This kind of sea day is a standard feature of most multi-port cruises and tends to be one of the more relaxed days of the trip.
Visa Requirements Across the Three Countries
Since this itinerary touches Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, even briefly at each port, travelers should confirm entry requirements for all three destinations ahead of the cruise, since port calls still typically require the same visa or entry documentation as a standard visit, even for a few hours ashore. Nepali passport holders should check current requirements for each country well ahead of booking, since rules vary and change by nationality. Gomayu can assist with confirming and arranging the correct process for all three.
Currency Onboard and Ashore
Royal Caribbean ships generally operate on a cashless system using a stateroom card linked to a credit card or cash account, used for onboard purchases throughout the cruise. Ashore in Penang and Phuket, local currency (Malaysian Ringgit and Thai Baht respectively) is useful for smaller purchases, though larger vendors near the ports typically accept cards.
Good to Know
Since this is a cruise-based itinerary, punctuality at each port matters more than on a land tour, ships depart on a fixed schedule and won't wait for late passengers, so any independent time ashore in Penang or Phuket should build in a comfortable buffer before the ship's stated departure time.
