Why This Four Destination Route Works
This itinerary covers four of Thailand's most visited coastal destinations in a single trip: Pattaya's easy Coral Island day trip, Phuket's Phi Phi Islands, Krabi's Four Islands, and Bangkok bookending the whole route with culture and a dinner cruise. It's a more ambitious version of the shorter two or three destination Thailand packages, aimed at travelers who want a broader sample of the country's beaches and islands rather than settling on just one region.
Coral Island: The Easiest Start
Coral Island (Koh Larn), about 7.5 km off Pattaya, is reached by a roughly 45 minute speedboat crossing from Pattaya Pier. Tawaen Beach, the main stretch used by most tours, offers calm, swimmable water and easy access to snorkeling gear and beach restaurants. Optional water sports like parasailing and jet skiing are available at the beach for an extra cost, paid directly to local vendors.
Phi Phi Islands: Maya Bay and Beyond
From Phuket, the Phi Phi Islands sit about 48 km away in the Andaman Sea, reached in roughly 45 to 60 minutes by speedboat. Maya Bay, the cove made famous by the film The Beach, is the day's main draw, alongside snorkeling at Pileh Lagoon, a sheltered cove known for clear turquoise water framed by limestone cliffs. Shark Point is a popular spot for seeing blacktip reef sharks in shallow water, while Monkey Beach, true to its name, is home to a resident troop of long-tailed macaques. Getting from Phuket to Krabi
Unlike the flight based transfers elsewhere in this itinerary, Phuket to Krabi can be covered either by ferry or by road. The ferry runs from Rassada Pier in Phuket to piers around Krabi, with crossings generally taking 2 to 3 hours depending on the operator and season. The road option, by private vehicle, covers a similar distance in roughly 2.5 to 3 hours. Both are viable, and the choice mostly comes down to whether travelers prefer sea views or a more predictable schedule less affected by weather.
Krabi's Four Islands Tour
Krabi's Four Islands tour, reached by traditional longtail boat, typically covers Koh Poda, Chicken Island (Koh Gai), Koh Tub (Tup Island), and Phra Nang Cave Beach at Railay. Koh Poda has some of the clearest water of the group for swimming and casual snorkeling. Chicken Island takes its name from a rock formation resembling a chicken's head. Thailand Visa for Nepali Citizens
Nepali passport holders need a tourist visa arranged in advance through the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu, since visa on arrival isn't available for Nepali citizens. Typical requirements include a passport valid for at least six months, a completed application form, a recent passport size photo, proof of confirmed tour booking, and a bank statement covering the last three months.
