Arriving in Phuket

A buffet lunch on Phi Phi Don rounds out the day before the return trip to Phuket in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island

The second full-day excursion heads to Phang Nga Bay, where limestone karsts rise directly out of calm green water. Canoeing into the bay's hidden hongs, sea caves accessible only at certain tide levels, is a highlight distinct from the previous day's Phi Phi stops. The tour continues to Koh Tapu, widely known as James Bond Island after its appearance in "The Man with the Golden Gun," before lunch at Koh Panyee, a Muslim fishing village built entirely on stilts over the bay. The contrast between Day 2's open-water island hopping and Day 3's calmer, cave-and-canoe-focused bay makes the two days feel distinct rather than repetitive.

Day 4: Phuket at Your Own Pace

The free day in the middle of the trip gives travelers room to explore Phuket itself rather than another offshore excursion. Old Phuket Town's shophouses reflect the island's Sino-Portuguese architectural history, while the Big Buddha and Karon Viewpoint offer two of the island's best panoramic outlooks. Getting Home

Departure runs through Phuket International Airport with a domestic connection to Bangkok for onward international travel. As with any itinerary ending on a same-day domestic-to-international connection, it's worth confirming the layover comfortably covers immigration and check-in in Bangkok.

November through April is the most reliable window for this itinerary, given that both full-day excursions depend on boat travel and calm seas. The Andaman monsoon season, roughly May through October, brings rougher water and a higher chance of tour schedules being adjusted.

Practical Notes for Nepali Travelers

Thai Baht is the local currency, with exchange counters widely available across Patong, Karon, and Kata. Reef-safe sunscreen is worth packing given the amount of time spent in protected marine areas across both Day 2 and Day 3. Since both full-day tours involve early starts and extended time on the water, comfortable swimwear worn under regular clothing and a change of dry clothes are worth keeping easily accessible rather than packed away.
