ā€œWe had an unforgettable 5D4N trip to Bali with Gomayu Holidays! From the very beginning, the communication was smooth, clear, and professional. Everything was perfectly organized; airport pickup, hotel check-ins, and daily tours were always on time, with no stress at all. Our stay was split between a beautiful private pool villa in Seminyak and a comfortable room at Grand Mega Resort, both of which exceeded expectations. The itinerary was well-balanced with adventure, culture, and relaxation. We really enjoyed the watersports (banana boat, jet ski, parasailing), the stunning Uluwatu Temple with Kecak dance, and the romantic candlelight dinner at Jimbaran Beach. The Bali swing and tandem ATV ride were absolute highlights and so much fun! Visiting Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) was magical and very well arranged despite the crowds. We had some spare time to visit the malls and try local food as well. Special thanks to the guide and driver, who was friendly, helpful, super-flexible and always made sure we were comfortable. We didn’t have to worry about anything as everything was well-organized. Highly recommended for anyone planning a hassle-free and memorable Bali trip. Thank you, Gomayu Holidays, for making our holiday truly special!ā€

Sri Lanka's Most Complete Circuit

This 10-day itinerary is the fullest Sri Lanka route in Gomayu's lineup, covering all four Cultural Triangle sites, the hill country, a Yala leopard safari, and a closing stop at Galle Fort. It suits travelers who want a single, comprehensive trip rather than choosing between a heritage-focused, hill-country, or wildlife-focused itinerary.

Arrival and Anuradhapura

The trip opens at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) with a transfer to Negombo. Day 2 heads north to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's oldest ruined capital and, notably, still an active pilgrimage centre rather than a purely historical site. The Sri Maha Bodhi, said to have grown from a cutting of the original tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, the Ruwanwelisaya stupa, and the Jetavanaramaya, one of the largest brick structures in the ancient world, together give a sense of the city's scale. Seeing the sacred precinct's lamps lit in the evening adds an atmospheric close to the day.

Mihintale, Sigiriya, and Dambulla

Day 3 covers Mihintale, the hill where Buddhism is traditionally said to have first arrived in Sri Lanka, before continuing to the Cultural Triangle proper. Sunset from Pidurangala Rock, opposite Sigiriya, offers what many consider a better view of Sigiriya itself than from the rock's own summit. Day 4 covers Sigiriya Rock Fortress directly: the fifth-century royal citadel is reached via staircases fixed to the cliff face, passing ancient frescoes and a polished mirror wall on the way to the summit. Climbing before 9am, as this itinerary schedules, matters considerably, since the combination of midday sun and wind on the fully exposed staircase is genuinely demanding, particularly for children and older travelers. Dambulla's cave temple complex, with five caves of painted ceilings and rows of Buddha images, rounds out the day in the cooler late afternoon.

Polonnaruwa and the Elephant Gathering

Day 5 covers Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka's second ancient capital and, being more compact and better preserved than Anuradhapura, the easier of the two ruined cities to cover by bicycle in a single morning. The Gal Vihara's rock-cut Buddha statues are a highlight of the site. The afternoon shifts to wildlife with a jeep safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, both known for the dry-season elephant gathering, when large herds congregate around the parks' reservoirs, typically between May and October.

Pinnawala and Kandy

Day 6 covers a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, timed for the bathing hour, before continuing to Kandy for the evening's Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic ceremony and a Kandyan dance show, giving the day both a wildlife and cultural centerpiece.

Tea Country and the Ella Train

Day 7 covers Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens and the climb into tea country past Ramboda Falls, with a night in a colonial planter's bungalow in Nuwara Eliya. Day 8 covers the scenic Nanu Oya-Ella train, one of the most celebrated rail journeys in Asia, followed by a walk to the Nine Arch Bridge timed for a train crossing.

Little Adam's Peak and Yala

Day 9 opens with a sunrise hike up Little Adam's Peak before the drive south to Yala, Sri Lanka's most visited national park and one of the best places in the world to spot leopards in the wild. A late-afternoon safari on arrival gives an early wildlife-viewing opportunity, with Day 10 opening with a dawn safari, timed for the park's best leopard-viewing window, before breakfast and checkout.

Galle Fort and Getting Home

Day 10 closes with a drive west to Galle Fort, the Dutch colonial-era walled town, for a final walk along its ramparts and lunch inside the walls, before continuing to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.

Best Time to Visit

Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, and Anuradhapura sit in Sri Lanka's dry north-central plains and are accessible year-round. For the full circuit, including the hill country and Yala safari legs, December through April generally offers the most reliable overall conditions, though the Minneriya/Kaudulla elephant gathering itself is specifically a dry-season event running roughly May through October, worth factoring in when choosing travel dates if that sighting matters most.

Practical Notes for Nepali Travelers

Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) is the local currency. Sigiriya tickets are issued through the Central Cultural Fund, and given how demanding the climb becomes in full midday sun, sticking to the early or late climbing windows this itinerary uses is worth taking seriously rather than treating as a suggestion. Warm layers matter for the Nuwara Eliya bungalow stay and the Little Adam's Peak sunrise hike, and given how many stops this circuit covers, packing light and reasonably flexible clothing helps manage the frequent hotel changes across all ten days.
