Why a Da Nang-Only Trip

Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge is Da Nang's best known modern attraction, a roughly 150 meter pedestrian bridge inside the Ba Na Hills resort, held up by a pair of giant weathered hand sculptures that make it look as though the bridge is being lifted straight out of the hillside. The bridge sits at around 1,400 meters elevation and is reached by cable car from the base of Ba Na Hills, a ride that passes over dense forest and is itself one of the longest cable car systems in the world. Beyond the bridge, the Ba Na Hills complex includes a French Village built in a European style, along with flower gardens and other hilltop attractions. Mornings tend to be less crowded and offer clearer views, since cloud cover can roll in later in the day.

The Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains, known locally as Ngu Hanh Son, are a cluster of five limestone and marble hills a short drive south of Da Nang, each named after one of the five elements in Eastern philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. The site holds deep spiritual significance, having been revered by the ancient Cham people and later visited by Vietnamese emperors, and today houses a network of caves, Buddhist temples, and pagodas built into the hillsides. Thuy Son, the water mountain, is the most visited of the five and the main focus for most day tours, reached either by climbing stairs or taking an elevator to the upper viewpoints and cave temples.

Hoi An Ancient Town

Hoi An, about 30 minutes south of the Marble Mountains, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, recognized for its exceptionally well preserved architecture as a former international trading port active from the 15th to 19th centuries, once visited by Chinese, Japanese, and European merchants. The town's Japanese Covered Bridge, originally built in the 16th century, remains one of its most iconic landmarks. In the evenings, the Ancient Town's streets fill with lanterns, and boat rides along the Thu Bon River are a popular way to see the town lit up after dark.

The Free Day and Optional Add-Ons

With a full free day built into the itinerary, Cham Island, a small archipelago off the coast near Hoi An, is a popular optional day trip known for snorkeling and diving around its coral reefs. The Coconut Village basket boat ride, in Hoi An's Bay Mau coconut forest, is a lighter, shorter activity centered on traditional round basket boats paddled through the palm-lined waterways. A spa afternoon is also a popular, low-key way to spend part of the free day after several sightseeing-heavy days.

Da Nang's Beaches

Da Nang's own coastline, particularly My Khe Beach, has been ranked among Asia's more attractive city beaches, offering a straightforward, relaxed alternative to the more organized day trips on this itinerary. Since the hotel base sits in the city itself, the beach is typically within easy reach for a morning swim or an evening walk without needing to arrange separate transport.

Vietnam Visa for Nepali Citizens

Nepali passport holders need a Vietnam e-Visa, applied for online before travel, and current requirements should be confirmed ahead of booking since rules can change. Currency and Practical Notes

Vietnam's currency is the Vietnamese Dong. Cards are accepted at larger hotels and restaurants in Da Nang, but cash is more commonly used in Hoi An's markets and smaller vendors, so it's worth carrying some local currency for the day trip specifically.
