A 6-day Golden Triangle trip (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) from Nepal costs about NRs 69,540 to 93,640 per person if you fly from Kathmandu, or about NRs 50,440 to 73,140 if you go by bus and train. That is our Golden Triangle land package from NRs 37,500, the journey to Delhi, monument tickets and pocket money. A 4-day Goa trip comes to about NRs 74,860 to 1,01,440 and a 4-day Kerala trip about NRs 76,260 to 1,13,540, both with flights that connect in Delhi or Bengaluru, since there is no direct flight from Kathmandu to Goa or Kochi. Nepali citizens need no visa for India, so there is no visa cost at all.
Prices checked: 1 Oct 2026. Package prices are Gomayu's live "from" prices on that date, per person, for a group of 3 to 7 travellers. Exchange rates: 1 Indian rupee (INR) = NRs 1.60, Nepal Rastra Bank's fixed rate (selling rate NRs 160.15 per 100 INR on 1 Oct 2026), and 1 US dollar = NRs 153.64, the Nepal Rastra Bank selling rate that day. Flight fares change every day, so treat the flight ranges as a guide, not a quote.

India trip cost from Nepal: the maths for three popular trips
Every total below is built the same way: our land package, plus a return journey from Kathmandu, plus tickets the package does not cover, plus pocket money. The first table assumes you fly.
| Cost item (per person) | Golden Triangle, 6 days | Goa, 4 days | Kerala, 4 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Land package (from price, 3 to 7 travellers) | NRs 37,500 | NRs 28,000 | NRs 31,000 |
| Return flight from Kathmandu | NRs 23,800 to 32,700 (to Delhi, non-stop) | NRs 42,300 to 59,600 (to Goa, one stop) | NRs 40,700 to 68,700 (to Kochi, one stop) |
| Monument tickets not in the package | NRs 1,600 to 3,200 | Paid at the gate where charged | Included in the package |
| Pocket money: meals, water, rides, SIM | NRs 6,640 to 20,240 | NRs 4,560 to 13,840 | NRs 4,560 to 13,840 |
| Visa | Not needed | Not needed | Not needed |
| Total per person | About NRs 69,540 to 93,640 | About NRs 74,860 to 1,01,440 | About NRs 76,260 to 1,13,540 |
The low end assumes a cheap fare and simple meals; the high end a fuller fare and more restaurant meals and rides. Shopping, water sports and optional tours are extra.
Monument tickets: the official Taj Mahal ticketing page charges Nepali (SAARC) visitors INR 540, plus INR 200 for the main mausoleum, so NRs 1,184. With the Red Fort, Agra Fort and the Jaipur forts and palaces, we budget INR 1,000 to 2,000 (NRs 1,600 to 3,200) for the Golden Triangle.
Flying or going by road and rail: which is cheaper?
Going overland to Delhi is far cheaper than flying but takes about a day and a half each way. It suits North India trips such as the Golden Triangle, Himachal and Char Dham; for Goa, Kerala or the Andamans, fly.
| Cost item (per person) | Golden Triangle by air | Golden Triangle by bus and train |
|---|---|---|
| Land package | NRs 37,500 | NRs 37,500 |
| Return journey Kathmandu to Delhi | NRs 23,800 to 32,700 | NRs 2,800 to 6,400 |
| Food on the journey (about 3 days in total) | Not needed | NRs 1,900 to 5,800 |
| Monument tickets | NRs 1,600 to 3,200 | NRs 1,600 to 3,200 |
| Pocket money for 6 days, with SIM | NRs 6,640 to 20,240 | NRs 6,640 to 20,240 |
| Total per person | About NRs 69,540 to 93,640 | About NRs 50,440 to 73,140 |
| Time to Delhi, each way | About 2 hours flying | About 1.5 days |
By air: Kathmandu to Delhi, Goa and Kochi
- Kathmandu to Delhi: non-stop in about 2 hours on Air India, IndiGo and Nepal Airlines. On 1 Oct 2026, KAYAK showed typical return fares of US$155 to US$213 (about NRs 23,800 to 32,700). January was the cheapest month in its data and April and May the most expensive.
- Kathmandu to Goa: no direct flight. Most routes connect in Delhi or Bengaluru, about 7 to 9 hours in total. KAYAK's typical return fares were US$275 to US$388 (about NRs 42,300 to 59,600).
- Kathmandu to Kochi (for Kerala): no direct flight; connect in Delhi or Bengaluru, about 8 to 9 hours in total. KAYAK's typical return fares were US$265 to US$447 (about NRs 40,700 to 68,700).
By road and rail: Kathmandu to Delhi for about NRs 2,800 to 6,400 return
- Bus to the border: Kathmandu to Birgunj takes about 7 hours; 12Go lists fares of about NRs 600 to 1,100 one way. Kathmandu to Bhairahawa (for Sunauli) takes about 9 hours.
- Cross on foot or by rickshaw: from Birgunj to Raxaul, or from Belahiya to Sunauli. Carry your passport or citizenship certificate.
- Train to Delhi: the daily Satyagrah Express leaves Raxaul at 08:40 and reaches Anand Vihar in Delhi about 24 hours later. Fares listed on erail.in: INR 500 in sleeper class (NRs 800) and INR 1,310 in 3AC (NRs 2,096). From Gorakhpur, the main railhead for the Sunauli crossing, the Gorakhdham Express reaches Delhi in about 13 hours for INR 580 sleeper or INR 1,485 in 3AC.
Our return range of NRs 2,800 to 6,400 is the Birgunj bus plus the Raxaul train, from sleeper class at the low end to 3AC at the high end, both ways. Book trains early through Indian Railways' IRCTC system or ask us to arrange them; trains in the festival season fill early.
What do Gomayu's India tour packages cost?

- Kerala Munnar and Alleppey Houseboat Tour: from NRs 31,000 per person, 4 days
- Shimla and Manali Tour: from NRs 30,500 per person, 6 days
- Magical Ladakh Tour: from NRs 34,500 per person, 5 days

These India tours are priced on request: the Delhi, Shimla, Manali and Chandigarh Tour (7 days), the Magnificent Tour to Himachal (9 days), Kerala Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey (5 days) and the Best of Kerala Tour (6 days). Ask us for a price for your dates.
The "from" price is for a group of 3 to 7 travellers. Smaller and larger groups pay a different rate per person. Here is how it works on the Golden Triangle Tour:
| Group size | Price per person |
|---|---|
| 2 travellers | NRs 39,000 |
| 3 to 7 travellers | NRs 37,500 |
| 8 to 13 travellers | NRs 35,900 |
| 14 or more travellers | NRs 33,500 |
So a couple travelling alone pays NRs 1,500 more each than the headline price, and a large family or office group pays less. On the Himachal and Kerala tours the gap is wider: the Kerala Munnar and Alleppey Houseboat Tour is NRs 38,500 each for 2 travellers.
Do Nepali citizens need a visa or any fee for India?
No. Nepali citizens do not need a visa for India under the 1950 Treaty of Peace and Friendship, and there is no fee or application. You do need identity documents: a valid Nepali passport or a Nepali citizenship certificate, for both air and land travel. The Nepali National Identity Card is not yet accepted by India as a travel document. Children can travel with a birth certificate, a school ID or their own passport.
Some of our Himachal and Kerala tour pages list "visa fee" under exclusions; that line does not apply to Nepali passport holders. The one exception: Nepali citizens entering India from China or Pakistan need an Indian visa. Details: India entry rules for Nepali citizens.
How much pocket money do you need per day in India?
Plan on INR 650 to 2,000 per person per day (about NRs 1,040 to 3,200) on top of a Gomayu package. Breakfast, transfers and the sightseeing in your itinerary are already paid, so this covers the rest.
| Daily item | INR | NRs (at 1.60) |
|---|---|---|
| Two simple meals (lunch and dinner) | 400 to 1,200 | 640 to 1,920 |
| Water, tea and snacks | 100 to 300 | 160 to 480 |
| Auto, app cab or metro rides on your own | 150 to 500 | 240 to 800 |
| Per day | 650 to 2,000 | 1,040 to 3,200 |
| Indian SIM with a data plan, once per trip | 250 to 650 | 400 to 1,040 |
Sources: Numbeo's Delhi prices (updated 30 Sep 2026) put a meal at an inexpensive restaurant at INR 200 to 800, a one-way local transport ticket at INR 25 to 70 and a monthly mobile plan with 10 GB or more at INR 250 to 650. The SIM rule for Nepali visitors is from India's telecom guidance reported by the Kathmandu Post. More detail: Is India expensive?
Carrying cash: in July 2026 Nepal Rastra Bank allowed travellers to carry Indian INR 200 and INR 500 notes (printed after 9 November 2016) up to INR 25,000 per person, as reported by Kalinga TV. Check the latest Nepal Rastra Bank notice before you travel.
How much does the Char Dham Yatra cost from Nepal?
Our 11-day Char Dham Yatra Package from Nepal is from NRs 81,800 per person, and the 5-day Do Dham Yatra from NRs 54,800. The Char Dham price includes Uttarakhand yatra registration for every traveller, private transport, twin-sharing rooms, breakfast daily and dinner on the hill days. Flights to and from Delhi, ponies, palkis and porters, Kedarnath helicopter tickets, the Sonprayag to Gaurikund shuttle and lunches are extra, so we quote the full total on your dates. More: Char Dham Yatra guide.
Is 1 lakh enough for an India trip from Nepal?
Yes, for most short India trips. NRs 1 lakh covers the 6-day Golden Triangle comfortably, whether you fly (about NRs 69,540 to 93,640) or go by bus and train (about NRs 50,440 to 73,140). A 4-day Goa trip fits if your fare is near the low end; the range is about NRs 74,860 to 1,01,440.
For Kerala, 1 lakh works only with a cheaper fare, since the total runs from about NRs 76,260 to 1,13,540. For longer trips such as the 11-day Char Dham Yatra or the 10 to 11-day Himachal tours, budget more than 1 lakh, especially in Dashain, Tihar or the summer holidays.
What is the price of a 7-day India tour package from Nepal, including flights?
For about a week in India including flights, the simplest choice is our 6-day Golden Triangle Tour: about NRs 69,540 to 93,640 per person with a Kathmandu to Delhi return flight, as shown in the first table.
Our 7-day Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur Tour is from NRs 46,000 per person, entry fees included. It starts in Jaipur and ends in Udaipur, so it needs one-way flights rather than a simple Delhi return; we price those on your dates rather than guess here.

How can you spend less on an India trip from Nepal?
- Go overland for North India. The bus and train to Delhi can save about NRs 20,000 per person compared with flying, if you have the extra three days.
- Travel as a group of 3 or more. On the Shimla and Manali Tour the price drops from NRs 36,500 each for 2 people to NRs 25,500 each for 14 or more.
- Book flights early. Dashain, Tihar and Indian holiday dates fill first. In KAYAK's data, Delhi fares were lowest in January.
- Pick your season. See the best time to visit India.
- Use your SAARC rate. At the Taj Mahal, Nepali visitors pay INR 540, against INR 1,100 for other foreigners.
What does the Gomayu price include and exclude?
On the Golden Triangle Tour, the price includes all road travel by private vehicle with a driver, twin-sharing hotel rooms, daily breakfast, airport and station transfers, an English-speaking local guide at the monuments, and no forced shopping or commission stops.
It excludes flights to and from Delhi, travel and medical insurance, monument tickets including the Taj Mahal, the Amber Fort jeep, the City Palace Chandra Mahal ticket, lunch and dinner, camera fees, tips and personal expenses. Our Himachal tours also exclude international and domestic flights. Inclusions differ by tour, so check each tour page.
Flying from abroad? If you are a Nepali living in the Gulf, Malaysia, Japan, Korea or Australia, you can fly straight into Delhi, Goa or Kochi on your Nepali passport (a passport is required when you fly in from a third country); your fare will differ from a Kathmandu fare, but the land package price stays the same. Tell us your departure city.
